My Humble Pentago Strategy Guide: The Diagonal

This is a beginners strategy. You start by placing marbles in the center of the square in two opposing corners. You then try to get three in a row diagonally on one square and then two in a row diagonally on another. It is then a game of twisting and blocking your opponents moves. This is a poor strategy to have in mind when you start laying down marbles because it is easily stopped and then leaves you less developed strategically than your opponent . If one does have the marbles places in the centers of opposite corners one can try, but don't begin your game like this. On the other hand make sure you don't let your opponent get his marbles placed for this strategy.

As you can see in the above example, after five moves, black is blocked and less developed and white is a couple moves from winning.
